Denise Magid (pictured) has been promoted the newly created role of Bloomingdale's chief merchandising officer. She is the department store's first chief merchandising officer in its 150-year history. Mark Cohen, director of retail studies at Columbia University's Graduate School of Business, told Retail Dive that traditionally, the Bloomingdale's CEO also has served as its chief merchant. Magid joined Bloomingdale's in 2019 as general merchandising manager, ready-to-wear, and concessions.
